AT&T outlook 2013 settings

Set up or update AT&T email – Microsoft Outlook 2013.

Setup Microsoft Outlook 2013 with U-verse account

  1. Go to File, select Add Account.
  2. From the Add New Account window, select radio button for Manually configure server settings or additional server types and select Next.

· If the Startup Wizard begins, Select Next

· When asked, Would you like to configure an E-mail Account? Select Yes, and then select Next.

  1. Select the POP or IMAP radio button, then select Next.
  2. Complete the User Information section.

Enter your Name and your AT&T email address

Example; xyz@att.net

  1. Go to Server Information section and select POP3 for account type
  2. Enter the following server details:

Incoming mail – inbound.att.net

Outgoing mail (SMTP) – outbound.att.net

  1. Go to Logon Information section and enter the following details:

User Name (use full email address)

Password

Select the Remember password checkbox.

  1. Select More Settings.
  2. Go to Outgoing Server tab and check the following boxes

My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication

Use same settings as my incoming mail server

Go to Advanced tab and enter port with SSL selection

Enter 995 for Incoming server (POP 3)

Check This server requires a secure connection (SSL)

Enter 465 for Outgoing server (SMTP)

Select SSL for Use the following type of encrypted connection

  1. Select OK, Next, and then Finish.
  2. Test your setup, you can send and receive email

Get a secure mail key:-
A security upgrade is coming to AT&T email. If you use Outlook tor email, you’ll have to update your email settings. Learn more about the security upgrade.

Be sure to create a secure mail key to set up or update your AT&T email in Outlook 2013.


Set up Outlook 2013 for AT&T email

Use these steps to set up your email for the first time or on a new computer.
In Outlook, select File > Add Account.
Choose Manual setup or additional server types.
Select Pop or IMAP.

Complete your User Information:

Enter your name as you want it to display to others.
Enter your full AT&T email address.
Complete the Server Information:
Account Type – Select IMAP or POP3.
Incoming mail server – Enter imap.mail.att.net (IMAP) or inbound.att.net (POP3).
Outgoing mail server – Enter smtp.mail.att.net (IMAP) or outbound.att.net (POP3).
Complete the Logon Information:
User Name – Enter your full email address.
Password – Enter or paste your secure mail key.
Check Remember password and Require logon using Secure Password Authentication.
Select More Settings.
Complete Outgoing Server info:
Check My outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication.
Select Use same settings as my incoming mail server.
Complete Advanced information:
Incoming server – Enter 993 (IMAP) or 995 (POP3).
Use the following type of encrypted connection – Choose SSL.
Outgoing server – Enter 465 (IMAP and POP3).
Use the following type of encrypted connection – Choose SSL.
Select OK and then Next. Outlook will test your account info. If everything passes, select Finish.

Verify or update AT&T email settings

Already have your email set up, but just want to update your email account with your secure mail key? Here’s what you have to do:
Select File > Account Settings.
Select your AT&T email account and then select Change.
Confirm or enter the following IMAP or POP settings:
Incoming server – imap.mail.att.net (IMAP) or inbound.att.net (POP3)
Outgoing server – smtp.mail.att.net (IMAP) or outbound.att.net (POP3)
Check your User Name (full AT&T email address).
In the password field, enter your secure mail key and select the Remember password checkbox.
Select Next. Outlook will test your account settings.
Select Close, then Finish.
